Description
Menashe, Samuel; Raine, Kathleen (foreword). The Many Named Beloved: Poems. London: Victor Gollancz Ltd., 1961. First Edition. Blue Cloth. Near Fine. 95pp. Inscribed on ffep by Menashe for Neville Braybrooke & his wife. In a different ink he has written out & initialed the poem Image that would be published in his 1971 first US collection No Jerusalem But This. Additionally he has added a missing word to one poem & completely rewritten another. Laid in is an interesting 24 line a.l.s; Braybrooke had evidently been pivotal in encouraging response to the book. Braybrooke himself has made an occasional marginal mark. A few spots of foxing on boards. Dust jacket slightly soiled, rubbed & nicked. An exceptional association copy of his first collection
