Description
Stokes, Martin. The First Death of Venice. Newcastle Upon Tyne: Bloodaxe, 1987. First Edition. Card Wrappers. Fine. 80pp. Stokes has inscribed the title page for Anthony Thwaite using his full signature. Also laid in is a short signed letter mentioning the Arvon course which Thwaite had taught him during which they had worked together on two of the poems eventually published in this collection. One of which appears to be Elegy for my Sister which is preceded by 4 lines from a Thwaite poem.
