As stated in the note the book’s title is taken from a poem in John Gray’s Silverpoints & Rainey acknowledges that the design of his illustrations are (unmistakably) inspired by Beardsley. No ffep & tape residue at its gutter edge. Short name & inscription on half title & in the same hand “You, from me.” written beneath frontispiece. Head fore corner of one page creased with short closed tears (3 x 1.5cm) affecting neither text nor illustration on verso. Unobtrusively light but extensive splash-mark aptly over front cover gilt vignette of two figures greeting in passing. Board edges bumped & a little rubbed.
