(viii), 81pp. Edges untrimmed. “This volume contains … the Latin verse written in concert by the Sixth Form of Wolverhampton Grammar School during the mastership of Alfred Robinson, 1897-1929.” In addition to the Latin translations from English poets there are half a dozen Latin translations from the Greek & two original Latin poems by Robinson. There is a printed compliments sheet with Robinson’s address on the front pastedown as well as an initialled handwritten inscription from Robinson dated 1929. Small ownership ticket of Oxford academic, book collector & author, John Sparrow. Beneath which, Sparrow, who was briefly at Wolverhampton Grammar School in 1915, has written that he purchased the book in 1986 at Oxford. Corners bumped & boards a little marked with rubbing & fractional wear at head & tail of spine.
