Description
Gibbon, Monk. The Velvet Bow & Other Poems. London: Hutchinson, 1972. First Edition. Green Paper Covered Boards. Very Good. 94pp. Inscribed in 1975 by Gibbon for Barbara & Jim Read who seem to be his wife’s sister & brother in law. Laid in is a clipping from the June 28 1969 Irish Times with the first printing of the title poem The Velvet Bow with two typos which Gibbon has corrected. He also adds a note outlining the circumstances of the poem’s genesis which finishes ” I send it to my dear brother-in-law who I know has always been capable of similar appreciation.” Offsetting at end papers.
