Description
AB117609, Hodgson Geraladine, The Life of James Elroy Flecker: From Lettters and Materials Provided by His Mother, London, 1925, Basil Blackwell, First Edition, White Buckram, Very Good, pp. 232, 285-8 (index) a.e.g. ; pp. 233-284. Bound in two separate volumes. The second comprised of The Epilogue containing Hodgson’s assessment of Flecker’s work. This unusual & quite possibly unique state is explained by the accompanying handwritten card from Flecker’s mother to Agnes Brita Lingen Gurney dated May 1924: ” I am hard at work going over The Life + Letters which came to me a week ago – before its final despatch for publication… Can you tell me the page to find the following words of Roy’s ‘For thee, O Architect of Dream!’.” The quotation’s actually used in this slightly altered form as an epigraph to this work. Flecker was known to his family as Roy. A fantastic association copy.
