The letter wholly about this collection is both attentive & effusive, mentioning Rae Dalven’s Cavafy “…a similar trust in love, a similar philosophic & multi-varied reverence, and similar classical, uncontaminated rhythms…So many other, loved, poets sprang into my mind, a select, crystalline company, and yet your Halevi is a perfectly new voice to me, more new than comparable, a true shock of delight…”.
