Description
47pp. Chiswick Press printer’s device at rear in red ink designed by Herbert Horne. Decorative initial capital to first poem & title page with vignette printed in red & black possibly by Horne also. The book itself is dedicated to Horne who shared with both Image & Arthur Symons a friendship with the high class escort “Muriel” Edith Hacon (the subject of Symons’ novel ‘The Life of Lucy Newcombe’ Dacon was also an artist’s model called “Amaryllis” & later a volunteer nurse, girl guide leader & suffragist). Lower half of the spine’s outer back-strip missing though label intact & binding structurally sound. Boards a little soiled & slightly bumped at tail fore corners. Armorial bookplate on front paste-down. Offsetting at end papers. A rare Nineties item.
