End papers a little foxed. Slightly soiled but complete dust jacket has a couple of very short (<1cm) closed tears. Laid in is a very scarce 1937 prospectus for The Group Theatre, that first performed the play, announcing their productions of MacNeice's Out of the Picture, Spender's Death of a Judge & "A New Play (title & details to be announced) by W.H. Auden & Christopher Isherwood". The book was published in October 1938 & on the publisher's imprint it states the Group Theatre's first production was to be at Cambridge on November 14th.
