A scarce uncorrected proof copy with the front cover, in addition to its full publishing details, showing a half page full figure engraving of Sir Thomas Bodley (the imprint’s namesake & founder of the Bodleian Library) standing, a book under his elbow, together with a stag beneath a tree. Internally end papers are illustrated in white on blue & throughout the text in black on white. Very light bump at tail fore corner.
