Soupault Philippe; Reeves Joyce (translator). Andre Breton. London: ICA : Institute of Contemporary Arts, 1967. First Edition. Stapled A4 Sheets. Very Good. 7pp. First English translation published here on January 19th 1967 of Soupault’s brief reminiscence of Breton written “for the sake of the record… To render sincere homage to Andre Breton we must first remember Breton the poet…Andre Breton at eighteen & sixty-eight was not so very different. Only death, which he was prepared for, interrupted that strange quest of the “impossible” which he called marvelous.” Folded in half with a few isolated spots of foxing.
