Description
Silk, Dennis. A Face of Stone: Poems and a Play. Pittsfield, Mass.: The Sun Press, 1964. First Edition. Illustrated Boards. Near Fine. 47pp. Tipped onto rear end paper (presumably by the publisher?) is a sheet of paper bearing a b/w reproduction of a painting of Silk by Alice Arbel (to whom the book is dedicated) as well as a brief author’s biography. The cover artist, Yosl Bergner is also acknowledged. On the title page Silk has written for Arnold Wesker: ” For Arnold, fellow square- basher, from Dennis, London.’64.” He writes a little more but other than “Jerusalem Post” I am not certain what. An interesting association copy.
