Description

AB117989, Atik Anne, Offshore, United Kingdom, 1992, Enitharmon Press, First Edition, Card Wrappers, Fine, Signed by Author , 1870612027, 82pp. Inscribed by Atik in January 1992 for fellow Enitharmon poet Neil Curry. Laid in are 2 als. The first a 52 line letter dated March 1992 with its envelope written from Paris concerned with Curry’s collection Ships in Bottles from which Atik quotes throughout the letter giving her reactions to lines; at one point even drawing parallels between a poem on a musician’s hands with a passage on those of a painter in an essay written by her husband the painter Avigdor Arigha. The second a 20 line one from Ealing dated February 1993 on the reverse of a botanical illustration of lilies (?) with mention of Stephen Stuart-Smith, Curry’s Walking to Santiago collection, Robert Frost, the Edward Thomas walk at Steep as well as her (presumably justified) nervous anticipation of the reaction to an (unpublished?) crime poetry anthology she was just completing. Both letters folded for mailing.
