Williams posits disgraced Eton master Nicholas Udall as a possible author of both this and an expanded later work Ralph Roister Doister written in 1552 and further than this shows overt textual reference to the cause and manner of his dismssal. Spine darkened with lettering beginning to wear. Small water stain at tail fore corner of rear board which is just visible on both pastedowns. Offsetting from small removed book-plate on ffep and occasional foxing throughout.
